Background of Scott Monty:

Scott Monty has been in the marketing game for a long time, was in social media long before it was social media. He was one of the creative heads with a small agency in Boston before joining Ford Motors to lead their global initiative for social media. Scott has the ability to engage and also to be engaged. He became an entrepreneur and recently started his business Scott Monty Strategies.

What we discussed:

  • Scott mentioned Frank Eliason (Comcast) led the industry change when it came to digital customer care.
  • Scott and Frank share the notion of how do you make a better experience for customers, whether through  customer service initiative, social media or anything you do in marketing.
  • It is important to treat social media as some form of media but it is not quite like earned media or paid media though there are elements of both in it but ultimately about building relationships.
  • Social media is building relationships with your colleagues, competitors, customers and people you want to reach.
  • Scott thinks social media is not a selling tool but a branding and awareness-building tool.
  • Have a good product.
  • Have engaging contents, stuff that connects with people emotionally that causes them to engage though not about talking about yourself.
  • Speak like the audience that you're trying to reach to build rapport and trust.
  • Apply your listening skills twice as hard as your talking skills.
  • Monitor the stuff that's coming in, what's being said about you and your competition.
  • Scott quoted Adrian Parker (VP - Patron Tequila ) who said, "...monitor unbranded conversations."
  • Promote other people's content.
  • Scott has a weekly newsletter called The Week In Digital to try and keep up with the changing aspects of technology. This is released every Monday.
  • Scoot coins some people he meet as GMOOT managers - "get me one of those"
  • Social media needs to be a sustained effort.
  • Three basics of what motivates people;
    1. We want what's in it for us and the people we care about.
    2. We want to leave a lasting impression.
    3. We want to to make the world a better place.
  • Scott mentioned Maria Popova, a strategic planner who runs Brain Pickings, who looked at an acceptance speech of a Nobel prize in literature that identified four (4) basic universal human desires;
    1. Acquisitiveness
    2. Rivalry
    3. Vanity
    4. Love of power
  • Scott has a live video preview every Sunday night using Facebook Mentions for the issues he's touching on his newsletter. Mentions is an app  currently only available to verified public figures.
  • Facebook is trying to get the news industry to rely on them more than on Twitter.
  • You need an email to get into the social networks.
  • To double down on how to reach people and do it in a personalize way and custom content, do emails.
  • You can link your email to the different social networks - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Google Ad services (announced earlier in the week).
  • Your email database is your ticket to learning how to better connect with people, as far as business goes, through social networks.
  • Action plan suggested by Scott: look at the totality of everything you are doing and revisit the plan and see how you're going.
  • Be smarter about advertising on Facebook.

  • Do a Periscope when sitting with a client and have a testimonial of what they learned.
  • Honest and transparent contents are the greatest sales and trust building tools in the world.

What we discussed:

  • We've discussed how to work an event and what you need to do after the event.
  • When attending an event, collect business cards.
  • Terry's tips on notes to put/write on the cards:
    • Who you meet.
    • What you talked about.
    • Where you where.
    • What's the next step for follow up.
  • Tools you can run on your cellphone like CardMunch or CamScan so you can take a picture and write notes directly to your phone.
  • The goal of collecting cards is get those you want to follow up with and not get everybody's.
  • Key to business cards: don't focus on passing out your card, instead you want to make sure you get theirs.
  • On business cards: collect more than you give out.
  • When in networking events, don't dump on people what you do but instead find common ground which would be the building block for a relationship.
  • Limit conversations to few minutes.
  • Don't automatically add people to your email list for a permission-based marketing.
  • Tell people you have an email list, the topic of what you're doing and ask if they'd be interested in it.
  • BNI - Business Networking International, goal of the group is pass business within in the group.
  • Figure out your goal before going to a networking event.
  • Networking events can be compared to planting and harvesting seeds.
  • Tip# 1: go with a need that somebody can solve.
  • Simple rules for follow up via any medium (phone, email, social media, etc.) is to tell people
    • Where we met.
    • What we discussed.
    • Next opportunities that could be there.
    • Suggest for a way to communicate further.
  • Never underestimate the value of a phone call for your next meeting.
  • Do follow ups within the next 72 hours or within 2 weeks.
  • People's favorite subject is themselves.
  • You may talk about what you do by telling them why you do it because that's where the passion is.
  • Tip# 2: Tell people who you do what you're doing for.
  • Tools to use to collate business card details:
    1. Scannable by Evernote
    2. Trello
  • It's okay to follow up late if you had a conversation that may stick to their mind.

  • Testing out the show using Blab.im
  • Blab is more fun, more conversational.
  • Periscope has gotten pretty crowded.
  • Blab perhaps need to categorize the streams as currently it's just tech and general. Categorizing makes it easy for people to find what they need, eventually.
  • Biggest area for online business is building the email list by first giving something for free then on the backend focussing on Facebook to market.
  •  You may email direct to the people in the list however when you have a new product, service or other specials, is to break it down to 4 areas thru Facebook ad;
    1. Load email list to Facebook ads and target the list.
    2. Target Facebook fans only.
    3. People who have visited your site by using a tracking pixel and creating custom audience for them. The list of people is building up in the custom audience on Facebook.
    4. Create a lookalike audience that mirror the audience you already have.
  • Targeting them directly through the ads because you don't have to re-sell yourself because your fans have an idea of who you are already, same thing with those who have subscribed to your email list.
  • You may market all sort of things, i.e. shirts, programs, but not so much on social media services we offer. Programs will be something they buy so they may log in and watch videos and learn from the materials.
  • Terry credits his most of his success, the most opportunity and ability to have little level of influence is his ability to be connected, same as the title of his book.
  • TEDx Detroit talk on 6 degrees of connectedness by Terry;
    1. Yourself - understanding who you are and core of your being to know your purpose.
    2. Others - to have relationships.
    3. Technology
    4. Planet
    5. Universe
    6. Bliss
  • The old-fashioned networking is also doing good for Janet's sales recently by going to events.
  • Take the old-fashion networking to the next level by offering consultation then offer an incentive to purchase.
  • People that are having second thoughts takes a while to get to places.
  • As per Terry, to succeed in business you got to have the right combination of brains, balls and bs, specially when getting in front of the camera.
  • When online, 1% creates the content, 9% comments and adding to the discussion while 90% just sit and reading it though they are engaged, learning and getting something out of it.

What we discussed:

  • Tested out new platform with Stephen Caggiano called Blab.im.
  • The plaform has the ability to have 4 people in a session at one point.
  • Issue with getting 4 together at one time is talking over each other, one obstacle to look out for, but in general it would be a powerful tool.
  • Four participants' faces are shown at once, kind of the the Bradey bunch, unlike in Google Hangouts.
  • Another technical issue to look out for is the audio where it may not be turned up appropriately without disrupting other users.
  • Blab.im and Google Hangouts utilize same hardware (laptop, phone).
  • Blab cannot be recorded and put into YouTube for the SEO side of things.
  • Blab is live interaction, even have the ability to comment back to those commenting even as a presenter by typing back in the thread of conversation.
  • With Periscope you can't really engage with people without aide of tools
  • Katch.me is a tool that saves your replays so you may go back and engage with the people who commented on your Periscope. Katch.me will take you to Twitter where you may send messages.
  • Using the right tools with the applications (Periscope, etc) can make it as a marketing tool.
  • There are already 3rd party developers creating apps to use in conjunction with Blab.im to get it more powerful and user-friendly.
  • Blab.im in not available in the App Store yet.
  • People can come and join in the sessions. The host has the ability to allow different people into the conversation up to 4 people.
  • With Blab, host has the ability to boot people out, too.
  • You can schedule a session for people to know and come.

What we discussed:

  • You may want to keep your Periscope (live streaming) short, say 5-10 minutes specially if you want to re-purpose it on your YouTube channel.
  • Naming your company (business) is important as you would want something to represent who you are and what you do.
  • If you are marketing yourself, say a speaker, coach, author, consultant, etc, you may want to pick your name as the business/company name.
  • If you are looking to be an agency-type of company then you may want to have a name other than just your name.
  • You have to humanize your brand. If you are the owner of a company you should be branding your name, too. An example would be Janet's several business (Local Likes, Janet's Marketing Biz15-Minute Social, even Business Growth Time) going under one entity which is JanetEJohnson.com.
  • Terry started with Networked Inc although his biggest is Motor City Connect. He also has #313DLove and trybean.com among others.
  • Getting your different websites under one entity and showing up as separate pages will drive the traffic to that one entity and would give you rankings through the roof.
  • Clean up your LinkedIn profile and make sure there are no broken links.
  • Auditing your website(s), top social network profiles and updating them as needed is crucial for your business.
  •  We work for all our clients and sit down with them and do strategies for them but we need to take care of ourselves as a business owner, too.
  • We should probably have a spreadsheet of all the different social media platforms and tools we use just to keep them in one place.

Comments, Likes, Shares and Hearts... Oh My!
#tastethechange Applebee's Campaign

Background of Stephen Caggiano : Stephen was formerly with the food and wine industry with Court of Master Sommeliers. He started part time on social media in Orlando, FL and eventually moved to full time which he has been doing for 4 years already. He builds Twitter profiles, Facebook pages as the Digital Cat Herder.

What we discussed:

  • We got together with Stephen because of the Applebee's campaign #tastethechange that took place in St. Louis Park. Bottom line for getting together is Periscope.
  • Periscope is liv-streaming social media app.
  • At the Applebee's event, among others, were Jonathan Brewer, director of To Be The Change Revolutions, Brian Fanzo @iSocialFanz, Vincenzo Landino, Sunny, Aaron Beibert (@8pmWarrior) who heads Attention Era that broadcasted the campaign.
  • Applebee's event closed out a digital footprint of over a billion impressions for just a day campaign.
  • Applebee's is a brand that gets social and knows how to connect with their audience.
  • Applebee's utilizes new technology for brand advocacy.
  • Nowadays, attention is the currency in social -- communicating TO the audience instead of talking AT the audience.
  • In Periscope, you know your audience is tuned in and paying attention by a show of hearts.
  • A user is allowed maximum 500 hearts to give at a given session and needs to leave the broadcast and back in.
  • Meerkat, another live streaming app, has the value of proposition build around engagement -- users have to share your broadcast, liking it and talking to you.
  • You may use a tool, SiderQube to auto aggregate hashtags within a brand chat so in Meerkat, if you have a brand, get people to use your hashtag in the Meerkat chat.
  • SpiderQube serves as an automated CRM where you can go back and re-engage everyone that was talking to your brand.
  • SpiderQube is with OneQube with Robert (@MediaLabRat) as the creator.
  • We need to keep up with the latest in social.

What we discussed:

Periscope

  • Gives you option to follow people instantly those you've connected on Twitter.
  • Interaction and feedback is instant like on a web chat.
  • You probably need to be careful of who you are following because all of those alerts can go crazy.
  • When you hope on, make sure you're giving value.
  • Sign up on Periscope, watch some Periscopes and learn how it works.
  • Q: How do I send hearts? A: Just tap on your phone screen.
  • You can tap up to 500 hearts.
  • Kim Garst, a social media guru, has created an actual course on Periscope.
  • You can give hearts as the viewer.

Facebook Updates

  • There is a new feed control on Facebook news feeds.
  •  When you click on the Like button of a page, you have drop-down so you could get notifications. This way you will be alerted whenever they have a post.
  • Another feature added is the See first. By this they're going to showing up in the news feed if you add them to See first. They're going to show up higher on the news feed than the other stuff.
  • See First is good news from a brand's perspective but may not be for the average consumers who may still prefer fuzzy cats, hairy dogs, the cute stuff, etc.
  • You can't run an ad through a personal profile anymore thus pages is available for brands or businesses.
  • When running ads on your page, you got to have a strategy behind. If you're going to spend money, you want to have a reason to spend the money.

#workfromhomedads Campaign - Tips to teach your kids while working from home

What we discussed:

  • Tip# 1: Pinterest drive traffic to your website.
  • Re-tweeting posts may not get people to click through the link.
  • We like to help businesses through social media consulting.
  • Tip# 2: In LinkedIn, you can create a custom url for your page.
  • Coming up with your hashtag really depends if it's easier to remember (for short ones) or a long but descriptive ones, which is easier to identify.
  • #workfromhomedads campaign is to teach kids while working from home.
  • Terry will be creating videos that will help people get a better grasp on whatever it is they are trying to do and his daughter will put it out to share.
  • Rewards are motivation for kids.
  • In YouTube, you may earn residual income from the old videos you post that are continuously being viewed over time.
  • Businesses takes time to build, it's not an overnight thing.
  • It is better to have fewer fans that are engaging on a page compared to a lot that are doing nothing.
  • #workfromhomedads covers different categories - LinkedIn, love-attraction and a proposed book about 6 degrees of connectedness.
  • The 6 degrees of connectedness are with yourself, other people, planet, technology, universe, and your bliss.
  • Came up with an offer to film businesses and let them formulate who their business is.
  • #workfromhomedads is teaching people that you can turn being home with your kids into something that can turn around and profit.
  • Tip# 3: We need the profit to make a business in order to stay on business.

What we discussed:

  • Overcoming obstacles by moving on instead of quitting.
  • We have to move forward and make it work in the end.
  • We don't have an edit button in real life but we can edit our thoughts.
  • Cliche goes life is 10% what happens to you and 90% is how you respond to it.
  • Have a positive attitude.
  • Periscope is getting popular for easy live streaming experience though not as professional as it has to be.
  • Being authentic is better.
  • Be yourself, be authentic, don't try to be the fake version of what you are in business and real life and people will trust you.
  • Blog is the home on the web so it is important to have synopsis on the blog but not the painstaking way by keeping it short, concise and sweet.

What we discussed:

  • FTC cracking down on promotions for all social networks.
  • If you're going to have somebody share or tweet, with a hashtag, in order to win something, you have to say it's a contest.
  • The actual guidelines by Facebook for timeline contests states that you are not allowed to tag people or have them share a contest.
  • Always think what is the end goal for creating the contests (i.e: more subscribers, additional email to email list, etc)
  • It is important to spend some dollars on your contest otherwise it's not going to reach people.
  • Contests also bring awareness to your brand, channel, page, etc.
  • You need to know your end goal and test what works better to get there.
  • You may use templates from Lead Pages that you can use for the contest and to generate leads.
  • Things you may do for the contest:
    • Like, share and comment
    • Like and share
    • Like and comment
    • Like and click link
  • Make the contest as simple as possible as people sometimes are lazy to comment.
  • It is also good to give people something they want as opposed to what you have to give away.
  • Two types of contest: Facebook timeline and an app contest.
  • Samples of apps for contests: Heyo and Woobox
  • Contest could engage your specific audience and really target where you're spending your time.

Background of Stephen Sadler: Stephen Sadler, Steve, is an inventor with 8 different patents. He is a former engineer turned entrepreneur. He started 4 different businesses and he is a software developer. He is also a former body builder. He has written two books and the second book's the first of a trilogy.

What we discussed:

  • Steve is both creative and creator. He is good with graphics and development.
  • The first book that Steve wrote is Exposure To Closure. It is sort of an autobiography and also kind of walk people through the path that actually how you successfully create a business in probably one of the most trying of times that we've ever experienced in our lives.
  • Right-handed engineers tend to be analytical while left-handed are the creatives.
  • Creatives tend to have lots of fun and think differently.
  • Steve quit his job as Director of Engineering in 2001 and started Scate Technologies which built the first eLearning tools.
  • They called eLearning as ignitables before which is like a stitch together of videos and PowerPoints and sound and all kinds of things and then played back in a linear format that someone could learn from found in igniteCAST.com
  • Scate Ignite is the authoring tool software used by large corporations for their eLearning creation.
  • Steve's next creation is the Buzcast, originally created to be able to market their eLearning products. Now, it's where video comes to life, try and take content and channelize it.
  • OTT is the over-the-top TV like Apple TV and that's where Buzcast aligns.
  • Buzcast can distribute video content that's attached on any hosting site.
  • ScreenTwit, one of the first social media, was built which took a basic picture and a basic image and sent it off to Twitterland.
  • Vyclone is similar to Periscope where one can be turned into a broadcaster. Vyclone allow two, three or four cameras simultaneously to take video of the same thing and stitch it together.
  • It is very difficult to blend creative and analytics specially as a business because you can be super creative but it doesn't mean you're going to make any money. And at the end of the day that's what you're trying to do -- make money.
  • Creativity doesn't necessarily make you the money.
  • Constantly creating and being original and having ideas whether they're provocative or bold or loud or funny or informative or whatever is what it takes.
  • Mindset, Steve's second book is about a device that you could place on your head because that  looks at your brain waves and actually converts them into text.
  • Small business that's looking to create training for themselves, Scate Ignite is probably one of the most simple applications there is for creating, simple eLearning presentations and be distributed through the web.
  • There's a time and place for automation.
  • In social search engines, whoever said it last is the expert.
  • In Google whoever is the best in search engine optimization goes first.

What we discussed:

  • We need to differentiate ourselves from everybody else is the same rule that applies to networking, both online and offline.
  • Golden rule of business networking, as per Bob Burg, is that all things being equal people are going to do business with and refer business to people they know like and trust.
  • Don't sever the relationship or continue to be able to build something just because it's not an immediate sale but to be able to think about your community and how you can serve them by recommending people that you trust and have the rapport.
  • People miss how can you be able to different and how to extend that relationship to be about them and look at it as a long term thing as opposed to trying to close the deal immediately.
  • When building networking relationship, try to own spot one in your network's mental rolodex.
  • Social media, online marketing, network marketing, and any networking out there is all about building rapport and it's not going to happen overnight.
  • We can come to top of mind for people if we focus on the needs of other people.
  • Quoting Dale Carnegie, "the most beautiful sound that anybody hear is the sound of their own name."
  • In networking evens, re-introduce yourself by name. (ie: Hi, Gary Loper.)
  • Create a visual picture for each person when you get to know their name so it will stick and you will remember.
  • To catch people's attention when writing a blog or tweeting or posting to social media, think of solutions for their problems because that will make them click.
  • When building networking relationships, focus on other people, what we can do and what we can get and when we do this, this go-giver ways, we'll be compensated well for it.
  • The law of left field according to Bob Burg: "Go-givers give for the sake of giving not with the expectation that you're only get from where you gave."
  • Bear in mind that the universe is going to be able to return in kind from unexpected places, unexpected people at unexpected times when you give to others.
  • We're here to be able to serve a greater good and if we can touch their lives whether they do business with us or not, that becomes a magnet that other people who vibrate the same way that we do are going to be attracted to us.
  • Concrete example for building networking relationship in LinkedIn is endorse people of their skills and by doing that you are able to give first and be able to help them create some credibility.
  • The most valuable real estate on Twitter is your profile, your picture and your banner. This is your online business card.
  • In order to be able to be found in Twitter and grow your followers, update your profile. You have 160 characters that are all search engine optimized.
  • In your social media profile, choose a picture that people will recognize you anywhere just by your picture wher your smile is your first logo.
  • In social media, your profile picture is your logo and the cover photo will be your billboard.
  • Start by having an attractive profile that let's people know what you're doing, what you can do for them, you'll start attracting them.
  • Four E's in effective tweeting: entertaining, educational, enhance people's lives and engagement.
    1. Entertaining - learn what your audience respond to.
    2. Educational - share references, bring in articles that substantiates what you do.
    3. Enhance people's lives - motivate people.
    4. Engagement - creating engagement where people see you talking.
  • 40% of the active users on Twitter are virtual voyeurs.
  • When doing your 30-second commercial, give people something to listen to.
  • "Love is complicated enough by itself so we purposely try to make it simpler," Gary's take on love relationship.
  • There's a 17-syllable hormone whose short name is PEA and it's kind of a love drug that lasts about 2 and a half to 3 years.
  • Find ways to be able to stay in love everyday.
  • The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman states that there are five basic ways that everybody feel loved.
  • We all feel the love differently, the same way the we are motivated differently.

What we discussed:

  • Tip# 1: A buy-right away app you can use on Instagram for $1.99 called the Legend App. This let's you take an image and put in texts for animation.
  • Tip# 2: Stay consistent with all that you're doing, specially in marketing.
  • Tip# 3: One of the best ways to build rapport is to listen first. Honor the people we're communicating with and let them speak first.
  • Hitting Like is the lazy way of interacting online, still it's interaction.
  • Facebook has the reply feature both on profile and pages.
  • Tip# 4: A good way to build rapport is find a common ground. Find things that you both share as an experience.
  • The concept of RelateVertising is finding a common ground, where it is the core of being able to relate with the people you want to.
  • Tip# 5: Ask the right questions.
  • Tip# 6: Be respectful of time, not just theirs but yours, too.

Background of Keri Jaehnig: Keri is the founder of Idea Girl Media. Received Honorable Mention in the Expert category, 2013 Small Business Influencer Awards. Featured author at SteamFeed, contributing author at Search Engine People and Social Media Today. Administrator of the Likeable League Inner Circle.

What we discussed:

  • One of the speakers at the LadyBlogger 2015 event last April in St. Louis, MO, sponsored by The Women in Biz, and spoke about Secret Formula For Promoting Blogs With Social Media.
  • As a general rule, when posting to social media, you have to recycle content and continue to share it.
  • Twitter would be the most conducive social platform to promote anything.
  • The golden nugget form of social media is publish your blog then syndicate on all of your social platforms - YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Post your blog to Twitter possibly 3 to 4 times, depending on your following.
  • The key is to give it a different title/subtitle, giving people a fresh view and be thinking of what is your audience doing at that time.
  • When you post a blog, you want to think what your audience's psychology is at the time of day.
  • Utilize link shortener such as HootsuiteBit.ly in Twitter.
  • Use hashtags in tweets to help you gain followers and attention.
  • Continue to recycle content as long as it's relevant.
  • When sharing a post, introduce it or describe it for people to know your thoughts or comment about it so people may interact and engage with you.
  • There is no icon to share to Instagram however you may put the blog photos in SlideShare and perhaps put in the description like you posted it in  your social network or perhaps link in your bio.
  • You may also post an image in Instagram where the link is on it.
  • You can link your Facebook pages to your Instagram account and switch between your pages and profile.
  • Do not abandon  your own blog simply because you may create content in social networks. The reason for this is you own your blog and you make the decision for that platform.
  • Don't put in a long post in LinkedIn because people's main goal being there is to network.
  • If Google+ is not our major social platform then we, at least, need to have presence there.
  • Google+ is a good place for social media professionals and online marketers to interact.
  • If all of your effort is put out there once, taking into consideration the time it takes to create content, that's a lot of time for little rewards therefore you need to share them more.
  • Utilize content scheduler like Hootsuite or Buffer so to streamline your content marketing.
  • BundlePost, an advance content scheduler may also serve as content bank.
  • Another strategic way to share content is through Triberr.
  • Be part of the group, Likeable Inner Circle where people can collaborate and learn social media.

What we discussed:

  • Have a change of scenery in your work every now and then, it makes a difference.
  • Or maybe bring something rejuvenating in your workstation to give you a kick during the days.
  • Believe in your #selfie shirt available from TeeJohnson.com where there are a bunch of fun little ones and even create your own hashtags and shirts.
  • Networking is about what you can do for me, what I can do for you and most importantly what we can do together.
  • When doing a business, figure out what you're looking for and they become your target clients. These are the best people you are going to work with.
  • Your target partners would be the people selling to your target clients.
  • Tip# 1: Find your niche. Narrow it down to specific businesses and don't go after generic businesses. Know who you want to work with.
  • Want to be the first person that people would think of when they hear an opportunity for you.
  • It is counter intuitive if you're asking for anyone but you'd be way better asking for more specific people.
  • You're doing a disservice to yourself, your potential clients and the referrer by being broad and generic.
  • Facebook ads, when you use it, would need to know the specific target market for your specific product.
  • The trap of entrepreneurship is you're always looking at how do I make more money.
  • You create additional sales channels by giving referrals out.
  • Happy clients are the best clients.
  • Tip# 2: Find clients who will pay you on time, though you'll only gauge this as it happens.
  • Tip# 3: Find businesses where you can have more opportunities and build more.
  • Membership programs are good for creating the residual.

31 - How to get leads and grow your business with Webinars with Josh Turner

How to get leads and grow your business with Webinars with Josh Turner

Listen via Podcast:

Who is Josh Turner?

Josh Turner is the founder of Linked Selling, a B2B marketing firm specializing in fully outsourced lead generation campaigns, as well as Webinarli.com, which specializes in webinar lead generation. His company represents clients in the US, Canada, UK, Asia, and Australia, in a wide variety of industries.

Josh's company also operates LinkedUniversity.com, an online training program for LinkedIn marketing, as well as Webinar University, where you can learn how to grow your business using webinars. He has been featured in the Huffington Post, Miami Herald, and many more national publications.

What we covered with Josh:

  • Webinars grew his own business at first
  • They had been generating thousands of leads a month by doing webinars before he launched Webinarli
  • What types of businesses best for using webinars? (Not Kimmy's type of business, unless she wants to position herself as a coach to other salon owners). Targeting other people within the business world (not the best fit for a retail establishment)
  • Best way to target: combination of Facebook and Linkedin advertising, with a little bit of organic using Linkedin and email. Highly targeted on Google too.
  • Get people to a free webinar landing page for them to sign up. Maybe some bonuses.
  • After webinar, try to follow up with a phone call. This has worked really well.
  • People like to talk to a real person
  • Josh prefers GoToMeeting Webinar system
  • Test webinar products out before going live with your audience so you are comfortable and know they work
  • Google Hangouts have some webinar systems that interconnect with the hangout
  • Webinar University - one funnel webinar breakdown case study - John Lee Dumas is doing a great job of this
  • If you want to be on video during presentations, look at the Hangout option. Sharing slides the better option is GoToMeeting.
  • When calling, how do you collect phone #'s? You don't want to ask for too much information at first. 2nd step is to add the phone # test reminder option. If you don't have their phone #, have a virtual assistant find their phone # using their name and email
  • Integrating all the different pieces
  • B2B world - Linkedin is where it is at
  • Build a relationship with prospect before you go for the sale
  • Putting webinars on auto-pilot after the fact is a huge benefit
  • Prioritize according to what is working
